Mike Parkes Ferrari 250 GTO original race records

Very interesting original race records and result sheets relating to Mike Parkes and his Equipe Endeavour/Marenello Concessionaires Ferrari GTO competing in the 1962 Guards International Trophy race at Brands Hatch in August 1962.

The blue, slightly larger than A4 sized Equipe Endeavour sheets cover practice, qualifying and the race, which Parkes won against good opposition including Graham Hill, John Surtees and Innes Ireland. His lap times, weather conditions, car set-up details, tyres pressures, competitors’ lap times are all recorded in accurate, hand written detail. I personally found it intriguing how much detail and observation are to be seem from an era where it is often assumed there was a ‘cavalier’ attitude to racing.

Of course Parkes himself was very much an engineer as much as a racing driver, and his services on both those fronts were recognised by Ferrari for whom he drove for many years, before sadly being killed in a road accident.

Equipe Endeavour was owned by Tommy Sopwith and started racing in 1954 – the frequently entered Jaguars for Parkes and other top drivers of the day, and achieved much success.

This item consists of 8 full pages of information, and we also have similar race record sheets which cover race meetings at Goodwood, Oulton Park, Snetterton and Silverstone.
